    Drivers?

: I believe my PC midi device (MPU-401) is having trouble connecting to any external MIDI devices I try connecting to it.

: System Manager shows that the MPU-401 MIDI device is installed. The joystick/MIDI port at the back of the PC is correctly connected to the motherbord. My PC does playback midi files however.

: I have not been able to INPUT/OUTPUT any signal to or from external MIDI devices I have connectd to the PC using my MIDI IN & OUT/15pin cable (purchased new). I have use the same external MIDI devices and same cable on other PCs and they can communicate OK with the PCs, so it is not the cable.

: I have one midi device that, if I plug the midi IN/OUT cables to it and plug the other end to the PC joystick/midi port which is switched off, as soon as I switch on the PC (basically as soon ast the power comes on), I immediately get a "Midi communication error!" on the midi device. This seems very odd.

: Any clues on this one?

    : Thaaks

    : Bull
