I use the full version of Anvil Studio which allows me to easily output a midi or mixed midi/audio file as a wav file. Maybe Cakewalk has a similar feature? Anyway, the free version of Anvil Studio might do it, or you may need a $20 add-on called 'Multi-Audio 1/8' which is an 8 track digital music composer (also available in 16 tracks). I also have a free and painless wav to MP3 converter if you need one after you get a wav file going.

: Hi, hope there's someone around who can help!

: I'm recording some music for a short film, but have no idea what I'm doing! I've currently recorded one piece on Cakewalk Sonar 6 with my Yamaha P90 piano and saved it as a midi file.

: Now, I need to know what to do with it next. I was expecting to be able to convert it to a wav file or something, but this is apparently a ridiculously convoluted process so now I'm completely stuck.

: I checked out Timidity++ but haven't a clue what to actually do with it, so no luck there.

: If there's anyone who can give me some advice or help, it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!
