Roland Sound canvas 55 connect to PC

Hello Everyone,

Im needing some expert advice here.

I have an old Roland SC55 sound module that i want to connect to a PC with Windows XP. The pc has Cakewalk 9 installed.

I have a special midi cable that is connected to PC and has 2 connections midi in and midi out on the other end.

HOW DO I GET MY PC TO SEE THE SC55.. I WANT TO USE THE SOUNDS ON THAT INSTEAD OF MY SOUND CARD IN PC. I THEN WANT TO SAVE THE MIDIFILES THAT I HAVE EDITED IN CAKEWALK TO A SONY JE480 MINDISK.
