I may not understand fully of course, but do you have the Classical Qcard in the QS6.1 or in the QSR or do you have two Classical cards?
If you have the Classical extended bank loaded into both the qs6.1 AND the qsr, the bank will not function normally for the instrument that does NOT have the card in the pcmcia slot.
I know I may have misunderstood what you,re trying to do, but I don't think you want to have both the QS6.1 and the QSR hooked together via midi whenever you download a sysex from the computer. You don't want the extended card bank loaded into a QS that doesn't have the Qcard in it's own pcm slot.
I sure hope this is helpful. PW

: After reading through the Forum, I got bold and downloaded my copy of SysEx and started playing with the extra soundsbanks on my Alesis CD-ROM that came with my Classical Instruments card. My Mac is hooked to my QS 6.1 In, and Thru to my QSR, so both machines recieved the same MIDI data.

: I auditioned the sounds fine on the 6.1, but when I went to play the QSR from the 6.1 (yes, I unplugged the MIDI cable from the Thru port and plugged it into the Out port) is when things got weird.

: The QSR will respond to MIDI signals on all banks EXCEPT the user bank, and will respond to Program changes as well. When I re-load the factory user bank via SysEx, it works fine again.

: It has to be something stupid and small that I am missing - anyone got a clue?
