This type of problem is usually related to the sequencer sending a 'start' command. In cakewalk you can disable (or check it) under project options. I'm assuming there's something you can setup in the roland sequencer too.
This was the conclusion from the previous time this problem came up. Just flip back the message archives from april to august and you should find it. I can't remember exactly when.
