: What has to be done to get the soundfonts into a format that the QS understands? Are they samples, essentially, or can they be converted to sysex?

SoundFonts cannot be loaded into QSes. It is a format that is used by SoundBlaster (and some E-mu, I think, but not sure on that) equipment. I suppose you could export the .wav files from a SoundFont using Vienna, burn them to a flash card using SoundBridge, and try to recreate the program data manually on a QS, but I have never tried that (nor would I want to). I have never used SoundBridge.

So basically, no, you can't load them into a QS.
