: Please Help

: Although I can record and play back .... I would like to know what I am missing.

: When I play back the sequenced song - I would like to hear the same instrument parts
: that I originally used for the recording....

: Instead I hear what ever sound patch my U20 is currently on....

: Thank you so much... I have read,,, read,,,, and read,,,, but do not GET IT : )

It is a good idea to have a setup frame contained in the sequence, prior to the start of the song. Here is what I do with my MMT8: Say the song uses part# 20-25,
I will record 1 beat on part# 19.Then go into edit mode and choose Program Change, enter the number of the patch you want to play (remember that Roland responds to 1-128 instead of 0-127, so your patch will always be one # ahead of what you want). You can also enter controllers such as volume(#7) or pan (#10) and the value etc.Next enter song mode and press edit. Part 1 enter 19, then the succsessive parts 20-25 in your sequence. This way, each time you play the sequenced song, all of your midi gear will jump to the proper patches and settings automatically prior to the actual sequence playing.I do this with every song I sequence and believe me, it saves alot of time and headache cuz you don't have to search for that little piece of papaer you scribbled patches on for the song. Hope this helps. Feel free to email me if you have more questions about the MMT8. I've had mine for several years and understand it's functions thoroughly.
