If I'm not mistaken, you're trying to do something similar to what I tried to do in using the ADAT optical output and using it to record (I tried to send it to a MD input). It won't work- ADAT format is very different from standard 44.1 kHz digital signal (8 channel stereo vs. 2, just for starters). You need
to get a soundcard that accepts ADAT signal. I purchased a Frontier Designs card for ~$300 that works great.
