Hi Greg,

: 1. Can I assign each midi track to record to a separate audio track and then convert all the midi tracks simultaneously?
Yes, you can record each midi track, but, not simultaneously.

: 2. If the answer to question 1 is no, then what is the best way to convert individual midi tracks to audio? Keeping in mind that I play the midi tracks back with the QS in program mode in order to optimize effects, I change the midi track that I want to record to midi channel 1 (if it's not already assigned to 1). When I hit record, for whatever reason this midi is the only track that is recorded to audio. When I'm done with that track, I change it to another number and change the next midi track that I want to record to channel one and repeat the process.

: Is there a better way?

What I do is set up the Qs8 in mix mode, with a multitimbral mix, saved with the instruments I want to record.
Then in VST solo the instrument, make the appropiate tweaks on my mixer, and, record. Usually this is done in stereo, except when I want to save space. It all depends on the instrument I want recorded. One reason I got the Qs8 is the quad outputs. Which has come in handy when recording percussion. I can route the kick, and, snare, to the aux's in mono, while the toms are stereo. Anyway you get the idea.

Peace,
Shane
