: happy new year to everyone :) my question is about the alesis editing. i'm messing with the envelopes and all the other editing options on the qs7.1. I have come to a conclusion. editing is not as tough as everyone says it is. now it takes quite a bit of time to get things how u want them but it's not tough at all. i was pretty much forced to learn editing off the board due to alesis not respondin to my "cd rom driver" questions. i think i could cut alot of "scrolling threw tha screen" time down if i could see things as far as editing on a computer screen. if anyone have a clue as to how to get the alesis software to work or name of a software that works good for editing sounds please help me out.. thanks ohh yea i have a pc computer

You can use sound editing software with a standard MIDI connection as well. It is supposedly a bit slower, but not really enough to hamper you. I have also been unable to get the serial driver to work, despite taking every piece of advice on this forum and elsewhere. I even reformatted my computer and installed the driver first thing after the OS, with no luck. It's not my syth, I tried connecting with the Yamaha CBX driver and it worked fine. Too bad I need the CBX driver for my MU100R. Anyway, the MIDI in/out on my sound card suffices for sequencing and sound editing.
