Thanks for the response. I follow what you're saying, but that's not the problem. It seems like the midi data sent from the synth to my PC is getting corrupted. Garbage in, garbage out! Cubasis does indeed play back what was recorded, but it is not smoothly recording what I send it. Are you connected through the serial port? I am and it works fine for playing demos and downloading banks, but maybe Cubasis can't handle it well or I'm doing something wrong...
: it may have something about how you set your midi out. for example if your sequencer is outputting on channel 3, then it doesn't matter how you recorded the midi notes (or what it sounded like when you recorded it), it will play the instrument on midi channel 3 on your alesis.
: i have the same set-up and it took a few painful days to get everything working, but it was well worth it. does this help you or are we talking about different things?
: : Okay, my synth is hooked up through the serial port which works fine for playing demos, loading banks, etc.
: : When I try to record MIDI tracks in Cubasis I've had nothing but problems! Program sounds keep changing unless I turn the program select mode to "off" and I don't hear all the notes that I'm playing coming back out of the Cubasis "MIDI thru" and some come back out as quite different pitches than what I played.
: : I have ransacked the manuals for both the QS 6.1 and Cubasis. Any ideas on what's going on here? My PC is running 500 Mhz with 56MB of RAM so that should be more than adequate...
