: : : I've been recetly on my music store, wanted to buy a sustain pedal for my QS6.1. The guys told me I should be aware that not all pedal manufacturers match the Alesis standards,. They only have a Yamaha pedal available, and I was wondering if it works with the Alesis, concerning the polarity. Any ideas? Moreover, can this sustain pedal be used to aplly other parameters, lbesides sustain, ike effects for instance?

: : : Best thanks in advance! How great it is to have such forum! Rewards 2 everybody!

: : My store told me that Alesis automatically detects at power on what type of pedal is connected. I tried the Yamaha pedal in the store and it has worked fine with my QS8.1 ever since.

: I purchased a VFP1/25 sustain pedal (piano style) for my QS6.1 for $23.00, and it worked just fine. Even though on the box it doesn't list alesis as being compatible. (??????) Go figure!!!

Any sustain pedal will work with aQS synth. It detects if the switch is normally open or closed upon power up. What the sales guy wasprobably refering to was the Volume/expression pedal input. The manual says touse only a Roland EV-5 or equivilant. Fatar makes a pedal that is supposed to work. It is used by E-mu/Ensoniq, Kurzweil and others with their own names stickered on. I,ve tried it and it doesn't work as well as the Roland.Yamaha and Korg pedals will not work.
