: This question has been asked many times and the answer is still the same. The Alesis serial driver for Windows is only compatible with Windows 3.1, or 95/98 depending on the version. There is an older serial driver for Windows 3.1, but that driver will not work reliably (if at all) under Windows 95/98. The Roland driver is much the same I believe.
