Since the midi out/thru of the qs is shared, either you need a patchbay or you can hook it up the following way.
MIDI THRU of MODULE to MIDI IN of QS
MIDI OUT of QS to MIDI IN Computer
MIDI OUT computer to MIDI IN MODULE
The trouble with this hookup is that this only works when the computer is ON, since the MIDI signal is actually going thru the computer and then to the module. You have to repatch the midi out of the QS to the MIDI In of the module in order to get it to play.
I have a patchbay as well as a multi port midi interface so I haven't had this problem, but I'm pretty sure this works. I picked a Kawai MAV-4 (or was it MAV-8), for around $40 on Ebay and it works like a charm. Nothing fancy, but down to the point.
