: : : : Look at Chapter 5, page 7 - it shows you how to create a split, or to assign a midi channel(or sound) to a range of keys.

: : You need to be in Mix mode

: : You can do this in Program edit mode too - at least
: : as far as splitting. Go into program edit and
: : set the voice ranges to be non-overlapping.

: : : :
: : : : : I bought my QS8 used and love it. No manual with it so I downloaded and printed one. Darned if I can figure it out. I'm a musician not a technician. Is there anything written(in plain English) that can walk me step by step thru the layering/mixing/keyboard splitting process?? I don't want to have to but a stack of keyboards to get to different sound combinations on stage.
: : : : : Any help would be appreciated.
: : : : : Thanks,

: Thanks for the advice.
: I've REALLY been trying to figure it out and with little success. I'm sure once I figure it out it'll seem simple but right now it's like trying to figure out warp drive. I'll keep trying. I just want to put piano on lower keys and a horn section on upper keys. If anyone could just walk me thru the process so I can get an accesible mix for live work.
: Thanks.

Sorry - at work without keyboard in front of me - I'll try to remember to do it at home and record the steps
