Hmmm. Interesting idea, but I'm not seeing anything come out of the QSR, even when I change
parameters that I know are editable via sysex. In fact, all I see coming out no matter what I
do are program change messages. Was there some trick to get the QSR to send sysex?
: Not all functions can be controlled via sysex, as not all controls send out MIDI messages.
: I used the Unisyn editor to capture the binaries and put them into Cakewalk as sysex commands.
: It's been a while, but if I remember correctly, Unisyn has a special capture mode for all MIDI
: activities. You open this window, and press keys on the QS, and write down the code.
: : Hi folks,
: : I'm an old-time QS'er who's just beginning to delve into sysex for these devices. I've been putting together some PC1600X controls, using the QE editor to get the sysex strings. One things I've been trying to do, with no success is find a string that will get the QS to display the screen that you see when hitting the channel up/down in mix mode. This screen displays the patch name/number and bank for the current channel. I want to have a channel-specific operation end with that screen displayed. The QE editor doesn't seem to ever bring up that screen. I stumbled across a QS midi spec last night, and in a quick scan I don't see a message to do what I want. Can any of you sys-experts either tell me definitively that it's not possible or (better) tell me how to do it? :)
: : Thanks very much,
