Two problems, one is that it takes the synth a moment to actually change all the parameters in Mix mode, and also, whenever the effects are changed, the sound drops out. In MIX mode, if you set the effects channel number, and then don't change the program on that channel, then you can change programs on all the other channels without the sound dropping out. You just have to pick a program for the effects channel whose effects work good for the other sounds in your mix. If you really get into it you can change the effects routing for each channel for more flexibility. This method of course is useful for multitimbral sequencing, but is not much help if you just want to change mixes while you're playing. (sorry!)
