I've been fighting with same problems, and I have given up. Are You using Sound Diver Alesis? I use it, and I have even downloaded newest update for it, but nothing happens for the data transmission problems. Time out value must be increased to the 1000, if You want to communicate properly, but that does not solve the ignorance of effects settings when transmitting presets. By the way, the ignorance of effects settings appears only after receiving user presets or mixes. I wonder how Emagic can put out software containing so much bugs. I haven't experienced anything else than difficulties with Emagic products. This transmitting problem seems to be the problem of many users around here... I was talking about it in Yahoo!'s Sound Diver-forum, but even M. Haydn itself did not reply to my message!
