Might sound stupid but what if the switch is mounted the other way around? Have you tried selecting Mac to see if it helps? Otherwise it could be that you're not using the right cable, this could lead to some unexpected software behaviour. Anyway, I don't have this problem with my QSR linked to Win98. Hope you'll figure it out soon...
