Thanks Marku..

I will try the sequencer/channel setup you posted below.

I have another "newbie" question. Is there a way to save the multitimbral presets on the 8... or do I have to re-enter the patches for every new song that I work on??? In other words... when I get done with one song... and have all of my channels, effects, etc.. set up for that song... how would I save all of the patches in the QS... when I start on another song??? Do I have to have that RAM card for the 8??? Obviously, the sequencer will not save all of these parameters on the 8. Thanks again for the e-mail and quick reply!!!

: Hey!

: Nice to hear that You solved the problem. Okay, the rechannelizing is a trick, where the sequencer re-routes the MIDI data, and that's all it does. Simply put, when You are sending on channel 1 from Your synth, and select a sequencer track, which is set to transmit data on the channel 2, the sequencer automatically switches itself to echo back data on channel 2, so, the result is that You are playing the sound on the channel 2 in Your synthesizer, not the sound in channel 1, from which You are sending your playing information.

: There is a close relation between the MIDI echo back-trick and rechannelizing-trick, so You must have them configured correctly in Your sequencer in order to use this.

: Don't be confused about this tricky method, it just helps working in some cases, and I've found that it works well even in basic setups.
