: I don't think you've given quite enough information for anyone to offer you a definite diagnosis.

: For one thing, what's your sound source? You don't mention having your QS audio outs connected to your computer. Do you? Or are you trying to drive a software synth?

: You mention just a single MIDI cable. That means you only have a one-way connection. You'd need 2 cables to communicate back and forth, which is crucial if you have the QS set to local-off. So, which Out is connected to which In? (Now, when using a serial cable, all you need is one.)

: Also, what do you mean by a 15-pin MIDI port? MIDI is only a 5-pin standard (2 of which aren't even used), and serial cables are 8-pin.

: So maybe you could start over and describe your set-up a bit more thoroughly...

I had the one cable hooked up from the in/out ports from the keyboard to a soundblaster sound card in the back on my comp. Yes the port has 15 little pins..its also used for game controllers too. Half of the stuff you said I have no idea what your talking about...qs audio outs? software synth? as you can see I have no idea what I'm doing here, I guess I'm going to have to buy another cable and hook it up through some sort of midi interface? or hook it up through the serial port.
