Taming Your QS Controllers

I use the tracking generator to tame certain controllers such as velocity or pedals. For example I didn't want my acoustic guitar patch to respond as much to high velocities. So here are the steps I followed:

1. Remove velocity from all routing sources. There are many places in amp/filter/pitch LFOs/envelopes that have "hard wired" velocity modulations. For amplitude, set velocity to "MINIMUM." In addition, be sure velocity is not a source in the modulation section.

2. Assign velocity as the tracking generator source.

3. Assign the tracking generator as the source and amplitude as the destination in the mod section. Set the amount to 99.

4. Now you'll need to play around with the tracking generator points to your liking. I kept it pretty much linear except flattened the response at the higher settings (8, 9 & 10).

If you're program uses more than one part, you'll need to copy these settings to the other parts. Unfortunately this is not a way to globally adjust the response curve of your controllers; it will only work on the programs you apply it to.

Let me know if this helps or if you have further questions.
