Do you have a manual? If you do, the procedure is in there,and I wouldn't be able to say it any better or clearer.
If you don't have a manual-get one! Alesis has it on their web site-for FREE!
I cannot stress the importance of that manual. (You're probably cussing me at this point, but really, keep trying with your adjusments, it will happen.)
As to the volume pedal, a proper expression pedal pluged into Foot Pedal 1 will automatically control the volume, unless some other instructions have assigned a different function.
I hope all this works out.
Maybe someone out there has a "simple" way of explaining the procedure. We won't give up yet.
