: I take very good care of my instruments however I have a major problem. When I hook up the QS 6.1 to my mixer there is a humming sound coming out from the speakers. I ck all the other instruments and I`m 150 % sure it`s from the Qs. How do i stop this humming...
: Thank you

Sam, this is a fairly common occurrance with QS6.1's. Mine does it and there have been several other posts concerning this problem. It is something to do with the power supply and\or the shielding. I've heard so many complaints about it that I think Alesis should have a recall for free service at a repair center. Some boards are worse than others. Mine is tolerable for live and recording if I turn down the volume at the mixer and increase the master volume on the keyboard. This works for me because the hum is not affected by the master volume. It stays consistent from the outputs. That's why I think it's the shielding or the ground in the supply. Remember that most of Alesis' prior gear always had wallwart power supplies and they were probably trying to keep costs down. Then again it could be just bad engineering. Other people have had such a bad hum that they've had to have the power supply replaced at a service center. Maybe if we all bombarded Alesis with this complaint they would recall. Who knowa? I'm willing to try.
