I solved the problem migrating back to SoundBridge 3.0 from the Alesis site. I read in some other posts that others had experienced the same problem and were using
the verision shipped with the Synth (3.1.1) and fixed it by downloading the 3.0 version from Alesis. It connected up and found my Synth in the blink of an eye and worked
great with my Flash Card. By the way for those looking for Flash Cards check out www.timasci.com/linear.htm. This is where I got mine, 8 MB for $64. The company is located
in Canada but I had no problem with online purchase and it came in the mail in about 10 days. They are Pretec Flash Ram Cards

: Soundbridge should find your synth regardless of the presence of a flash card, so rule that out. Re read chapter 3 of the soundbridge manual - make sure you have midi in AND out connected. Also, soundbridge may be confused if you have any other devices in the chain.

: : Just received an 8MB flash ram card for my QS 7.1, I installed it in slot A but when I
: : try to use Sound Bridge via midi it does not see any connection to the Synth. I have checked and
: : double checked my midi setup to make sure it is pointing to my Midisport 4x4 port B which the QS 7.1
: : is attached to and checked the Alesis manual and config and can not find the problem. I'm open to any
: : suggestion or assistance. What am I overlooking? The card is a pretec FAD008 which is supposed to be
: : compatible with the Alesis.
