Soundbridge is used to copy wavs, midi sequences, or banks to a flash card. Use freeloader to copy syx files to and from your instrument. To save what you have - upload your sysex from your QS to freeloader and save the .syx file. That way you can try other sysex files and go back to your original any time. I'm not sure of the key strokes needed for the S4 to upload, but pressing the store button repeatedly might give you a "transmit all?" option - that's what you'll do as freeloader is waiting for a sysex dump. You can dload freeloader from alesis.com

: I've been using my S4 for years but only as live performance for the factory installed sounds.
: Now I'm getting into Cakewalk etc.. on my computer..

: A few questions:: if anyone has an answer!

: 1) Where can one find Soundbridge software? Is it needed for the Alesis to transfer sounds to and from a PC?

: 2) In the manual, to transfer banks to my PC, it stated the command to use was "STORE". Does this "cut and Paste" or Copy??????!!! I wouldn't want to erase my sounds and mixes from the S4!

: 3) Anyone know where I could find the following?:World Ethnic QuadraCard or something equivalent??

: 4) Does obtaining .syx files mean that there are actual sounds/samples in those files that are usable?

: Thanks
