OK, please disregard the part about the repair centers. Aparently I needed to look no further than this very website.

: So, I've experienced this problem that everyone seems to talk about, a 60 cycle hum with the unit on or off. I have had the same problem and noticed that it got worse after I plugged the unit into a Fender Twin Amp that had a severe short in it. I spoke with an electronics technician about this matter and his hypothesis is this: He believes that an electrical spike or surge might damage a zener diode in the power supply portion of the keyboard. For those like myself who might be unfamiliar with what such a thing does, it aparently allows the electricity to flow in a single direction and stops any back flow of current. According to my friend, sometimes these go bad and cause such hums in electronic equipment. If anyone is so inclined, could you check into this possibility? My friend will be out of town and unable to look at my unit for about three weeks. If not, I will post any findings I have as soon as I am able to. I very much want to fix this problem with my keyboard.

: Also, Alesis has ignored every email that I have sent in regards to this matter. Does anyone know if there are any repair centers? I bought my unit used and so it is not covered by warranty. I don't mind paying to get this unit fixed or a new PS installed. However, I can't seem to find any information on authorized (or unauthorized) repair centers for these units.

: Cheers!
