: Has anyone ever used the ADAT digital out for recording?

: I use it regularly, but I was wondering if there's a way (since my Cubase SW indicates multiple inputs for my ADAT interface) to split different midi tracks to separate audio tracks to be recorded simultaneously.

Absolutely!! If you have adat in on your soundcard, and a QS, than that is the only way to record it, unless of course, you have a room full of Neves or something.
Anyway, it's quite easy actually. The QS sends the audio from it's 4 outputs, to the 4 outputs of the digital output. Main out (LR) AuX Out (LR)
Simply, pan your sounds in the QS Hard left and right, turn off your effects internal because these are only sent to Main outs. and set up Cubase to record these seperate inputs. Wah La , seperate tracks. If you use Cubase to trigger your QS. Then simply mute those four outputs, arm new tracks in Cubase, Start your cubase, and record 4 more tracks all in perfect sync with now having the power of cubase to perfect your track. I hope this helps.
