I am using DP3.02 on a Mac along with an original QS (as a controller) & a QSR (for the sounds). My question then, focuses on the QSR & freeMIDI/Unisyn/DP:
I am hoping to be able to use the drum set patches in the drums bank (MIDI channel 10/Drums) along with other patches in the preset and user banks (banks 0-4 on the QSR) in an existing sequence....Is this possible?
I have spent the last three hours today trying to figure this out and I finally arrived at getting the patchlists imported into freeMIDI from Unisyn, so now they come up in DP (my sequencer). However, when I select channel 10 on a track in my sequence, I can see the drum bank -from which I choose "Standard Kit1", but the patch does not sound correctly. It just plays a different sound other than the Drum sound. All of the other banks select and play their sounds correctly. (Is there a seperate bank control# for the Drum Banks?...)
I know that there is something to do with a "Drum" mode as opposed to a "Keyboard" mode , is this part of the problem? Also, what is the difference between "general midi" on & off modes? Are these global, or can they be selected on a per channel basis? In other words, if I need to have the general MIDI mode enabled in order to access the drum kits from within my sequencer, could I just turn it on for that channel?
Or, do I need to somehow send the drum patches to Unisyn and then send them back to the user bank in the QSR (so that they can be used with the other preset/user banks in the "keyboard" mode)?
Last (and least!), what exactly should my QSR be set to in order to use it with my sequencer? I am sorry that this is so basic and all over the place, but this has been an ongoing issue for me for the past couple of months. I have tried to glean whatever information I could from the manual, as well as speaking with tech support at both Alesis and MOTU (when I have gotten through to them....), but I still can't quite seem to get my questions answered.
Any help on any of the above questions would be greatly appreciated.

PS: (BTW, there does not seem to be a freeMIDI profile for the QSR/QS8...but there is one for Unisyn?...)
