I found the vintage Keys card on ebay for 50$. You can also program a blank flash with the soundbridge S2 software and the sysex file, both of which are available through peeps on this list

: Hi all. Very helpful info here! Wish I'd have found this forum before buying the .2. Likely I might have shopped around as a lot of you suggest for 8.1 on ebay or something. Of the greatest interest when I considered Alesis at all was those great expansion cards that Alesis claims on its website, and in black and white in the owners manual, "are available at your Alesis dealer." Is this a little misleading or what?? I wish now that I would have shopped for the cards first, Synth second.
: The fact that the QSx.2 is so stripped compaired to early mods doesn't make me feel much wiser either, but not having worked with 8 or 8.1 at least I don't feel quite as slighted.
: All that nonewithstanding, I run this KB thu bose pas, and it really is a beautiful thing to behold! Probably no more so than an older QSx but there I am, determined to make the best of it!
: Can anyone suggest the easiest way to come by the Vintage Key / Vintage Synth cards that I'm loath to fork over 150-200 usd on ebay for? Does owning an old laptop with pcmcia slot qualify me for creating these?
: Appreciate any crumbs that you throw me!
: Regards to all,
