: I have a QS6 and Cakewalk Pro Audio 6.0.

: Mixes.

: How is this done?

When using a sequencer, Cakewalk or other, the
keyboard should be in MIX mode, GM OFF.
You use only the Multitimbral MIX, and assign
different patches to different tracks/channels
from Cakewalk's Track View window.
You should be able to access any patches from any banks.
(If the Cakewalk Instrument Definitions was properly
installed)
Pulling down mixes is not very practical, most of
the mixes are layered sounds, intended for live
performance. Since you can use only one mix at a time,
your best option is the Multitimbral Mix, with
all 16 channels enabled, it's like having a 16 piece
orchestra.
