: Greetings fellow music makers!

: I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem with their QS7/8 (I have the QS7):

: Yesterday afternoon when I turned on the keyboard, only half of the LCD Display appeared. The whole display lit up, but only half of the text appeared. Its kinda difficult to know where you are in the keyboard with only half a window's view into its insides! I had just used the keyboard in the morning with no problems; brought it home, turned it on, and...half-a-display! Luckily its still under warrantee, so I'll just get it fixed.

: Has anybody else had this happen to their keyboard? How about any other problems? I'm really just curious -- hoping this is not the start of more problems with the synth (I'm sure its probably not). I know stuff wears out eventually, but not after just six months!

: Thanx

: Jeff

Not to start any negativity about Alesis, but I
have a Quadrasynth Plus Piano and have had nothing
but problems with the displays. It was replaced once under warranty when it failed. It now failed again and has been replaced twice. Both times, it failed about 1/2 hour later. The keyboard goes back in the shop again tomorrow. I wonder if this is why they changed the display on the QS6/7/8?

I wonder if these displays just can't handle being banged around (minimal but reality) or large temperature changes. (Yes, it does get cold in NJ and they keyboard shouldn't self destruct when it does)

If I was playing out live with it right now, I would be going crazy. Lucky I am not!

Jeff
