: : When I use the serial port to connect to my qsr and launch cubase or cakewalk, the computer sends out program change info and edits whatever mix I have currently loaded. If I switch to MIDI in and out, there is no problem. I have tried both the Alesis and the Roland drivers and both have this problem.

: : any help is apreciated.

: : thanks.

: I am using the serial driver with my QSR and
: Cubase VST with no problems so far. Must be something
: within Cubase which is set wrong. Just to get a
: workaround, switch the echo function in Cubase to off
: clear all tracks in you arrangement and save it
: as DEF.ALL in your Cubase dir then restart Cubase
: to see what happens.

I have complained about this myself to the Alesis
people, and they seemed to think it was a problem
with my computer. When the serial driver engages,
channel 1 on the QS7 changes to program #48. It
does this in Cubasis, Finale, Unisyn--any program
that uses the serial driver. Very irritating, and
it seems that this should be an easy problem for a
programmer to find and fix.
