If the problem happens while some device is connected to MIDI-IN AND MIDI-OUT (let's say a computer), your problem may be caused by bad midi transfer. Pull out all the plugs, turn the keyboard mode (global menu) to NORMAL and try again.
If it works well then, try another midi interface.
If NO device is connected, this sounds like trouble.
