: I am at wits end.
: Like many of you I could not get the Alesis midi driver to work. Following instructions found on this page, I downloaded the Roland driver.
: I couldn't get it to work either.
: So I bought a midi/game port cord and tried to use the midi driver in my Turtle Beach Montego sound card.
: Still no luck.
: I'm no dummy. I've written programs in C++ and Dos assembly, but I am not to familiar with windows 95 operating system as yet.
: At one time I had Cakewalk Pro Audio 7.0 working with the Alesis driver, but Unisyn and SoundBridge would still lock up my computer.
: That's when I tried the Roland driver. Since then I have reloaded the Alesis driver, but could not get Cakewalk to work anymore.
: Also, though my modem is on com 2, when it is activated and I try a midi program in another window I recieve an error message that the Roland driver com 1 port is busy.
: I need detailed settings for the QS8, com 1, and the roland driver.
: I am offering a twenty dollar reward to the anyone who can help me get Cakewalk, SoundBridge, and Unisyn to work properly.

I solved my own problem. My Pentium II 400 required the 38.4 baud rate. I feel very happy, but somewhat embaressed.
