Yes and Yes. And I don't believe you can get the synth to send the signals out the midi ports to other instruments when playing back sequences, so your mixes will have to be set up for the QS to play alone.

Actually, there are sequencers that aren't computer-based ... and they would work too. And Yamaha makes a machine that will play midi sequences from a diskette. Using this, you would lay down your sequences on the computer, then save them to a diskette, and play them back out of this machine. I don't remember any other details, so check with your local music store.
