If you are using Midi cables (5-pin keyboard side to 15-pin computer side) you shouldn't be using the Alesis serial windows driver. Use your soundcards midi driver.
(The cable for the serial driver is a 8-pin mini din on keyboard side to either a 9 or 25 pin serial connector on the computer side.)
