I am trying to connect my new QS8 to my labtop (Win95) via serial cable.
I installed the latest Driver from the Alesis site.
The switch at the back of the Alesis is set to PC.
Whenever I start up Cubase or Soundbridge the program complains that is could not
detect the Synth.
I am able to play Midi files via Cubase, no problem.
But when I attempt to play the keyboard via Cubase (Midi Thru set at Cubase,
Keyboardmode OUTx, Gen Midi ON, I/O PC 38.4) I can only hear random sounds.
I do see the little red and green 'LED' in Cubase light up.
Even when I do not hit any key, the keyboard generates sounds.
I tried a whole lot of other combinations, but could not find any that
works.
Does anybody have an idea what could be wrong ?
