Bill:

Can't comment on the Kurzweil but I bought a QS8 about 6 months ago. The construction seems pretty solid which is good because they aren't light keyboards ! The manual is pretty easy reading for the most part. The sounds are wonderful (and of course the 2 PCMCIA slots allow a lot of expansion). The only capability I wish the keyboard had is online sequencing. I make do by using PC based midi software. I'm fairly heavy handed also but 6 months isn't really enough to give you a reasonable idea of the long term capabilities. Overall, a very nice and capable keyboard and there apear to be lots of knowledgable folks with good info both at Alesis support and on this forum. Besh wishes in your decision. Tom

: Hello,

: Just happened upon this forum and it's excellent! I'm
: down to buying either a QS8 or a Kurzweil PC88mx. Has anyone
: played / owned both? Which is more roadworthy, as we play live
: 3 to 4 times a week. I also play heavy handed, is one
: more sturdy then the other? Last but not least, which has the
: better "rotary effect" for the organ sounds? Any other comments?

: Thanks very much in advance for any help, and keep enjoyin' the music!
