I sometimes use a cheap X-stand.
The only advantages are
- it's cheap and easy to transport
- it looks spectacular while playing because it rocks back and forth all the time
Usually, I play on a double-X stand for two keyboards (one X in front, one on the backside)
It's definitely much more stable.
