I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but in program mode you can edit and hear patches and FX just fine, and I use Unisyn to set up mixes (ie tell it what channel to get the FX from, what FX bus & controllers to use on each channel etc) but I've never been able to properly audition mix FX from Unisyn. I set them up, write out the user bank, select the mix from the front panel and audition it like that. All my programs and FX are always fully set up before I assemble a mix and that has always worked for me, you just can't properly play/listen to mixes in Unisyn.
