: I have my QS7 interfaced to my PC through a MOTU PC MIDI flyer and I can not figure out why the QS7 constantly outputs MIDI data to the MOTU interface, I have all the controllers zeroed(mod/pitch bend), no keys are stuck I even went as far as changing the MIDI in/out to serial, and it still causes the MIDI in LED on the MOTU interface to stay lit all the time, which causes my PC to respond/redraw really slowly???

: I am pulling what is left of my hair out!

: What am I doing wrong?
: Can someone help???

: Thanks

Some synths (older ones?) like the original Yamaha DX7
implemented the option of real time sysex message to
continually check the MIDI cable chain for instrument
disconnects. In the case of the DX7, those were not
long byte strings, but it looped constantly which could
bloat up an UNFILTERED sequence. Most software
provides data stream "filtering" functions to
either ignore, strip out, or thin out various
categories of controller & sysex data.
If you can identify the type of your constant
data stream, you can activate a filter for that
category.

Does anyone know if the QS 7/6/8 boards also
implement the "active sensing" type of SysEx,
or has that function been obsoleted in new gear?
