There would be a way to automate a change of the amount of FX applied to a program within a mix via MIDI if you can determine the controller number that corresponds to that parameter. For example #7 control is volume, #10 is pan, #64 is sustain, etc. I use Performer and can record midi changes for automation or manually enter controller numbers and values for any particular track. Jim's comment is the easiest way to achieve individual track settings for the amount of FX applied to any channel, but if you want this in an automated fashion, then you'll have to find out what controller number corresponds to that parameter. I've never automated the FX change, so I can't tell you the corresponding controller number, but the QS manual may have a list or you can look at the legend in your sequencer...and finally you can just try to find out by a process of elimination.
