: : 3. Using MIDI connection between PSR530 and QSR, QSR plays fine, but patch selection has to be performed manually (Using patch change controller on keyboard yields eratic results). Suggestions?

I use a yamaha 320 (a sucky waste of 400 bucks) to control my SB AWE 64 (I have some cool patches which I downloaded), and it makes horrible work of patch selection... selecting voice 00 will cause the awe 64 to jump to something like "Acoustic Bass" (patch 31, i believe). This happens with all software wavetable synthesizers as well... Anyway, I think it's because the PSR's use of a funky bank/preset select style in "program" mode (for their combo/dual voice presets). You can try changing the mode of the keyboard (psr) via sending it a SysEx message to GM mode (which might make it harder to select patches in different banks on the Qs6). I think this might solve some of your problems.
