Does the d8b have a coaxial wordclock output port? I would guess it does, if so then you just need a 75 Ohm coax cable with bnc connectors (it looks like a computer network cable, but the resistance is different). Then just set the QS to external clock in the global edit settings with the appropriate frequency and it just works, easy!

If you are already using that wordclock out for something else I wouldn't sweat it, you ought to get a pretty excellent signal if you use good quality cables, the digital output is superb but there's not much wrong with the analog signal either if you don't have an interference problem. I would expect the mackie to have excellent A/D converters so the difference will be pretty subtle.
