The short answer is yes!
The longer answer is yes - assuming you have a software sequencer that allows output on multiple ports (i.e., the serial port for 16 chs. and the MIDI port for the other 16 chs.). Most sequencers allow this (Cakewalk, Powertrakcs, etc.).
