: I would like to set up mixes which allow me to use the four controller sliders to control the volume for four sounds in the mix. My understanding from reading through the archives here, is that I need to set the controllers for each individual program that I use in the mix. I am a QS novice - how do I set the controller for each program? Thanks in advance.
Use the MOD functions in program edit mode to set the sliders. I'm not going to explain it in detail. It's relatively straightforward once you know where to set it and well covered in the manual. Make sure you use a slider that's either not set to control anything else or that you can afford to change. If you want to be able to turn the sound all the way down, you may have to set the slider to control the filter as well as volume. In some cases, just using volume won't completely turn off a sound. The sliders could also be set to control a parameter in the effects program, so you're going to want to make sure that you don't get any conflicts there either. Good luck!
