: : I have a QS6. What does the battery do and how do you change it. Does it have any display function. The battery seems to be solidly attached to the holder. It does not appear to be an easy change.
: My guess is that it's thanks to the battery that you don't have to start over from scratch if you lose power to your synth.

Battery is to retain your RAM when unit is powered down.Life is aprox.5yrs. but I've seen 'em last ten. you will know when it dies cause user bank will be blank, so back-up all your stuff before it's too late.Replace with same type battery. Removal of circiut board recommended. Make sure new battery comes w/ ears attached. Solder carefully into place. If you don't have a steady hand, let a qualified Tech do it. Batteries can be found at any decent electronics parts house for 10.00 or less.
