No your not the only one, i wants to do that to!
I have found a way of working wich works pretty good for me. I have found that sounds on my QS+piano sounds much fatter in program mode than it does in mix mode. Therefore i use to record all midi-info (in cubase) in mix mode. When all midi-info is ready i put the Qs in program mode and record each midi instrument from each single program.

It does suck a lot of power from cubase, but i am able to get all those nice hammond sounds with leslie and dist. The piano can than also have it´s own reverb and effects.
