: Are you referring to the BNC to BNC cable?

That's the one, RS probably sells a similar looking cable in both the 50 and 75 ohm ratings.

: I'm trying the word clock option because I can't get audio just using the lightpipe. When using the lightpipe only, I was setting the QS to be the master (internal) and the soundcard to be the slave.

That's one way that should work, assuming that by slave you mean it gets its clock from lightpipe.

: The funny thing is that I was able to hook my QS8's optical out up to his Pro Tools Digi 001 without a hitch. I didn't even need the wordclock option.

I wouldn't expect this to 'just work' without pops.

: I've been trying to get a response from Alesis as to which termination value to use.

The BNC sync cable should be internally terminated on the card, but I don't know more than that.

: I'm wondering if my problem is the soundcard or Cubase VST/24.

My guess is either improper cable, clock configuration, termination, or just a dodgy lightpipe implementation on the card. I hope you get it working.
